  • mottagare: Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Chicago public library, 28th Ward Alderman Jason Ervin and Chicago Housing Authority., Chicago, IL

The Residents of Chicago, the area known as University Village, ABLA/Brooks Homes, Roosevelt Square,Loomis Courts and Barbara Jean Wright Courts Apartments feel the new proposed name "Little Italy" does not acknowledge and/or respect the diverse make up of the whole entire community this library branch will serve. We demand the name remain as before the proposed name change, which is "Roosevelt Taylor Street Branch". We feel public facilities such as this should give people of all ethnic background a sense of inclusion and names that speak to specific nationalities and/or ethnic groups is not acceptable.
