Keep Families Together: Fix California's Home Care System

Respect. Dignity. Quality of life. For nearly half a million California seniors and people with disabilities, these words are the cornerstone of home care, a program that enables them to live safely and independently at home at a fraction of the cost of nursing homes. But the system is broken, and once again a target for deep budget cuts.
The California State Senate will soon decide whether or not to pass a bill to fix our state's in-home care programs and pass the state's budget. SB 1503 would help keep families together and save tax payers hundreds of millions of dollars.
Instead of cutting the home care services vulnerable Californians need now, SB 1503 creates savings in this year's budget and achieves even better long-term saving by transforming home care.
Urge your legislator to say "NO" to a budget with more cuts and "YES" to SB 1503, so we can put home care on stable ground - once and for all.
Watch the video at left to learn more about how SB 1503 can help keep families together through in-home care.
Our system of care for our state's most vulnerable seniors and people with disabilities is badly broken, and I'm asking you -- my legislator, to fix our state's home care program by supporting SB 1503 and stopping home care budget cuts.
Instead of cutting the home care services vulnerable Californians need now, SB 1503 creates savings in this year's budget and achieves even better long-term savings by transforming IHSS.
