Canada: Support Supply Chain Transparency to End Child Labor!

At any given moment, approximately 115 million children are working in dirty, dangerous and degrading jobs. Boys and girls are trafficked or pushed in work that harms their bodies, minds, and spirits. Few can leave these jobs easily.

The Canadian government has a leadership role to play in Canada and internationally to improve awareness and understanding of where and how goods that are bought in Canada are made. Government action has been proven to help raise awareness and support collaborative action among industries, corporations, non-profit groups to remove children from these dirty, dangerous and degrading jobs.

In order to help ensure that Canadians are contributing to the International Labour Organization’s goal of eliminating the worst forms of child labour by 2016, tell the Canadian Government to work with businesses and organizations to encourage transparency in supply chains for products sold in Canada as a key step in helping to end the worst forms of child labour.
