Poverty and Inequality Need Real, Serious Solutions

Recently, the President's Advisory Council for Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships presented a report on the vital work needed to combat poverty and inequality across the US.

The next presidential administration cannot and must not ignore the councils recommendations - and the fundamental truths behind poverty and poverty prevention.

Every day we can see the face of poverty in our friends, neighbors. In children who live in struggling communities, in loved ones facing health challenges or job loss, and in those who come from communities of color, are native peoples, or are marginalized because of sexual orientation or gender identity.

Poverty and inequality are not abstract problems. The issues encompassed - from children being poisoned by lead in their water to families torn apart by unjust criminal justice practices - are structural problems that require real systemic solutions.

We cannot allow children, families, and communities struggling with poverty to move forward alone.

Take action today to call on the new administration to take the recommendations of the President's Advisory Council for Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships seriously, and turn them into real actions in the fight against poverty.
