Demand Parenting Rights for William Flowers
- af: Care2.com
- mottagare: Judge Charley E. Prine Jr.
After enduring a rough divorce, William Flowers was able to find solace and love in a same sex marriage when he married his husband in 2010. When he filed for joint custody of his three children, he was promptly denied.
This injustice was just the tip of the iceberg for William. Not only did Judge Charley E. Prine Jr. rule that custody should lie with his wife Lacey, but William is no longer allowed to leave his kids with anyone who isn't related to them by blood, or adoption. This includes William's husband Jim Evans. William must get permission from ex- wife Lacey to leave his kids under the care of someone other than himself.
It is outrageous for a judge to allow this ruling. It makes the assumption that Lacey's judgment is somehow superior to William's and infringes on William's rights as a parent. Stop this injustice and give William the chance to parent his kids in a loving home.
Denying someone's rights to their children based on their sexuality is unconstitutional. William Flowers deserves the right to parent his children with his spouse, regardless of their gender. He cannot properly parent his children without the help of his spouse.
You must overturn your decision to leave the children in his wife's custody. You must also remove the stipulation that requires William to obtain permission from his wife to leave his children in the hands of people like his husband, Jim Evans.

This is an infringement on his rights as a parent. You must keep in mind that this does not only affect William but is detrimental for the children as well. This decision must be overturned immediately.
