A Lithuanian Woman Has Been Locked Up by ICE for Nearly a Year. She's Begging to Be Deported, But They're Refusing For Seemingly No Reason.

Tatjana Vesiolko, a Lithuanian-born billiards champ who goes by "Tia" for short, has been trapped in ICE detention for 11 months. You read that right: 11 months. And, unsurprisingly, the experience has been torturous. As her boyfriend put it, "She's falling apart in there."

What makes this especially worrisome is that she is willing and wanting to return to Lithuania -- even going so far as to offer to pay for her own ticket.

Immigration attorneys have confirmed that there aren't any obvious barriers to her removal. She has committed no crime. So why is Tia still locked up?

Sign now to tell ICE: end this human rights violation and free this poor woman from detention! Let her go back to Lithuania!

According to ICE's own data, just two years ago, only 4% of detained people were held for more than 180 days. By November of 2025, that number had risen to 10% of the detained population -- 6,500 people like Vesiolko. This is an outrage.

Not only is detention for this long clearly a human rights violation -- Vesiolko has literally lost a year of her life -- it is also a huge waste of government money and resources. And for what? More cruelty to people who, like Vesiolko, have no criminal record?

ICE has detained tens of thousands of people in 2025 alone, and clearly it is unable to efficiently and humanely move them through the system they claim is so necessary. The result is simply torture: keeping people locked up in horrific conditions for no good reason.

All Vesiolko wants is to go back to Lithuania now. It's time ICE did the thing they committed to doing: let Vesiolko out of detention and allow her to return to Lithuania! Sign the petition now if you agree!
