Tell Media Executives: This Election, Don't Spread Disinformation and Sow Division

In these final weeks before Election Day, it's critical that the media cover the campaigns, voting process and results with integrity — and without spreading disinformation or stoking fear and violence.

By all measures, this election is unlike any other we have experienced. We are living through a global pandemic and much-needed racial-justice uprisings. Disinformation is everywhere, and Trump has deliberately sought to undermine trust in the media and the election process — even refusing to commit to a peaceful transfer of power and urging his supporters to take up arms should he be voted out of office.

We're calling on the Associated Press and the heads of the cable and broadcast-news networks to rise to this moment. Demand that the media STOP amplifying disinformation and prioritize getting the story right.
