Rejection/Modification of hike in reservation seats in IIMs/IITs and other national institutes
Friends,
Recently, there was proposal for a increasing the number of reserved seats in IITs, IIMs, AIIMS, and all other national institutes to a whopping 49.5%.
This is highly unjust and unapplicable in a country like India. Taking into consideration the number of students of the reserved categories writing the entrance exams, the percentage is very much less than the number of ordinary category students.
Morover, IITS, IIMs etc exist for quality education. Students who do not pass the entrance, will not be able to catch up with the tough syllabus.
And almost 50% reservation will mean that the competetion for the limited no. of seats(which is already extremely high) will double. And also, the brighter minds of India will be put in second consideration, over relegion and caste.
This is all but a political drama. After all, reservations for backtrodden castes have been implemented since 1947. If for 59 years the government hasn't succeeded, then why should we put trust in this new rule?
India is a secular country, showing equal justice and rights to all relegions. The new reservation system is a highly baised idea, one which should be rejected outright..
On being questioned by NDTV 24X7, the proposer of this rule said,
"Hey, everyones got kids!"
Exactly what we have to say as well. Everyone's got kids! Not just reserved communities!
Please sign this petetion, to make the competetion fair, just and sensible. Sign this petetion to support the unfairness and thus rejection of the bill. This is a direct petetion to the President of India, His Excellency, Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam.

Your Excellency,
Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.
Dear Sir,
As you might be aware, recently the HR ministry has put forward a increase in the percentage of reserved seats in national colleges(like IITs, IIMs, AIIMS etc.) to a whopping 49.5%. We, the students of democratic India, protest against this highly baised and unfair rule.
Sir, India is a democratic and secular country, where every relegion is given equal importance. Thus, such a huge reservation, in terms of caste and relegion, is highly unfair and unjust. It will deny many bright minds an oppurtunity to study in the elite colleges like IITs and IIMs.
Please take action against this rule, and do the needful to reject the bill. Please, sir, think of the students of India who deserve better education.
A reservation is just and fair, if it is based on the economic and financial status of the student, not based on his relegion and caste! Please do the needful sir,
Yours,
The Students of India
