Tell Honolulu Zoo: Release Mari & Vaigai to an Elephant Sanctuary

Mari and Vaigai are two wild-born Asian elephants who have been held captive for decades at the Honolulu Zoo in Honolulu, Hawaii.

In the wild, elephants roam for miles each day, form deep social bonds, and make their own choices about how they live. But in captivity, Mari and Vaigai are confined to a small, barren enclosure, unable to live as elephants naturally should.

Elephants are highly intelligent, emotionally complex animals who need vast open spaces, stimulation, and meaningful social connection to thrive. Captivity causes serious physical and psychological harm, including chronic stress, boredom, and health problems.

After spending decades trapped behind metal and wire gates at the Honolulu Zoo, Mari and Vaigai deserve the chance to live freely, in a more natural environment where their freedom, autonomy, and dignity is finally prioritized.

Please sign this petition and demand a more just and compassionate future for Mari and Vaigai.
