Demand corporate accountability on child labour!

Did you know that every time you go to the mall or the grocery, you could be unwittingly fueling child and forced labour?

From tomatoes to textiles, almost anything that Canadians consume and use daily could be linked to child and forced labour. In fact, World Vision research found a staggering $34 billion dollars' worth of goods is imported into Canada at high risk of using child labour or modern slavery. Yet nearly half of the companies that sell these products have said little or nothing about their efforts to address labour abuses. That's just not good enough.

Right now, an estimated 85 million of the world's children are suffering in jobs that are dirty, dangerous and degrading. Canadians have a part to play in ending this.

The Government of Canada's Subcommittee on International Human Rights is putting together a report following a study on the connection between child labour and the goods corporations sell.

We must call on the subcommittee to help fix this broken system and do everything it can to ensure that businesses in Canada share information on how they are preventing child labour in their global supply chains.

Sign the petition today to demand companies are held responsible and help eliminate the worst forms of child labour.
