A recent study by the American Hospital Association (AHA) found that hospitals and health systems responding to the COVID-19 pandemic incurred more than $320 billion in losses through June.As a member of the Coalition to Protect America's Health Care, this is deeply concerning to me. Doctors, nurses, and other health care providers are on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic, and they need your support to ensure care for every patient.To make sure these hospital heroes have the resources they need, the next coronavirus relief package needs to include:-Financial support for hospital and health systems and front line workers, including child care, transportation, and educational benefits.-Forgiveness of Medicare accelerated payments.-Preserving and building on health insurance coverage.-Liability protections for physicians, nurses and hospitals and health systems providing care to COVID-19 patients.As your constituent, I am asking you to support our state's hospitals and their dedicated staff by including these provisions in the next COVID package.
