Sign to Support California Caretakers

Around 40 million Americans provide unpaid care to an adult or child every year, according to the AARP. For these caretakers, the role can often be physically and emotionally overwhelming.

Tara watched her mother transform from a strong, independent woman to someone she hardly recognized. Alzheimer's changed Tara's mother's personality, and caused a total role reversal between mother and daughter. As the disease progressed, Tara found comfort in reaching out for help from caretaker support groups instead of keeping her mother's struggle private.

Melissa, another caretaker in California, had to recognize that her daughter's mental illness didn't have an easy fix. Though she tried to care for her daughter and her other children, Melissa wasn't truly at ease until she realized she also had to take care of herself.

Will you help show support for those who find themselves in the difficult situation of caring for a loved one? Sign the petition to stand with California caretakers like Tara and Melissa.
