Save Indiana's Planned Parenthood: Repeal HEA 1210

Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels recently signed HEA 1210, which banned the use of federal funds toward services from Planned Parenthood. Although 97% of Planned Parenthood's services are not related to abortion, Indiana's Congress decided to exclude every Hoosier with federal insurance from care.

Ironically, Planned Parenthood currently uses no federal funding for abortion services, instead using Medicaid payments to provide contraception and other preventative care. The bill will also cut roughly $150,0000 in funding for prevention of sexually transmitted infections.

Indiana Republicans are attempting to strip their constituents of any reproductive rights whatsoever, apparently including the right to avoid sexually transmitted infections.

Tell U.S. District Judge Tanya Walton Pratt that defunding Planned Parenthood will only decrease reproductive health in Indiana; urge her to repeal the HEA 1210 bill today.
The passage of HEA 1210 this May has already taken its toll on Hoosiers seeking reproductive health. Eight Planned Parenthood clinics have closed so far, with many more teetering on the brink of bankruptcy.

The aim of Indiana's Congress to prevent abortion with this bill is a fallacy. Planned Parenthood allocates no funding towards abortion services; instead, it uses its Medicaid payments to fund contraceptives and STI prevention.

You have already demonstrated and compassion by granting Planned Parenthood a temporary injunction. Please continue your support by repealing HEA 1210 immediately.
