Pavements are for people. Delivery robots are operating on UK pavements right now, causing chaos for pedestrians and with no explicit laws governing them.
For most people, delivery robots are a novelty. For blind people, wheelchair users, and older pedestrians, they are an obstacle, cause danger and create inaccessible pavements. Delivery robots are particularly hard to detect for blind and partially sighted people, and have even crashed into people on mobility scooters.
Living Streets – the UK charity for everyday walking – wants the UK Government to create national regulations against delivery robots now, before robots take over more of our precious pavements.
If you want the Government to do more to protect our pavements, sign up with Living Streets today. We will show you how you can take further action.
