Demand Owner of Pet Safari in Conway, South Carolina to Close Down Her Store

  • af: Romina Sahafi
  • mottagare: Jimmy Arthur Richardson: Solicitor of Horry County, North Carolina

A woman was fined $445 for owning a puppy mill. More than 146 dogs were rescued form these horrendous conditions. The dogs were housed in cages that were piled with feces. Many dogs were often in small cages. Around 50 dogs were stuffed into a wooden building with cages that just had wires, nothing to protect the dog's sensitive feet. None of the puppies had been taken out of their cages since birth!

This is not the first time this woman has been charged with the same crime. About a year ago, she was charged with the same exact offense, and gave up around 124 dogs, but was not given any citations during that time. Renee Brown is also only being charged for a misdemeanor. Please sign this petition to make the court close down her store!

The trial will be on March 18, Wed. 10:00 AM, so please spread the word fast!

The Honorable

     Jimmy Arthur Richardson

          Solicitor of Fifteenth Circuit

             P.O. Box 1688, Georgetown, S.C. 29442

On March 4, 2015, Renee Brown had 146 dogs seized from her who were in horrible conditions, and was fined $445. These dogs were in cages that had not been cleaned in a very long time. There were many dogs found in the backyard area in cages that had wire bottoms and sides, exposing the dogs' sensitive pads on their feet to the wires. Directly underneath these cages was a pile of feces and urine. A police report stated that "the number of dogs in each cage was inappropriate". In the building where the mother dogs and their offspring were being kept, there was an "overpowering smell of ammonia". There were around 50 dogs in this small building. The same incident has happened with Renee Brown just last year. What Renee Brown is running is a puppy mill, which values profits over the well being of the dogs. These dogs are treated inhumanely, which can harm not only the dog, but the buyer as well. Puppies that are sold in pet stores, most of which come from puppy mills, have many illnesses including pneumonia, severe allergies, and more. If Renee Brown's store does not cloes, she could be raising more dogs in her puppy mills for the next years to come. She has already done it last year and this year, and will most likely do the same thing next year if she is not stopped. For the safety of the dogs and the buyers, we urge you to promote the closure of Renee Brown's pet shop, Pet Safari.

         Sincerely,

Many Caring Citizens Around the World
