Blackwater Founder Wants U.S. to Hire Mercenaries to Fight in Venezuela!

The crisis in Venezuela continues to deteriorate, as we saw recently with the limited military insurrection against President Nicolas Maduro at the behest of opposition leader Juan Guiado.

As the rest of the world, including the United States, considers foreign intervention, former Blackwater founder Erik Prince has been pitching his idea: Deploy between 4,000 and 5,000 hired mercenary troops (sometimes referred to private military contractors, or PMCs) from neighboring countries to overthrow Maduro.

This notion is incredibly dangerous for two key reasons: Not only do mercenaries adhere to far lower standards of conduct in warfare than uniformed troops, it could also easily spark a bloody, pronged civil war, as it would be likely most of the current Venezuelan army would remain loyal to Maduro.

Tell the U.S. Congress and the Trump administration to roundly reject Prince's suggestion by adding your name to this petition!
