Demand that the J.F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts reverse its decision to add TRUMP to the center's name and consider a change in policies/practices. Trump fired board members and appointed himself as the board's chair. Trump memorialized himself. And processes were not followed.
I strongly recommend that the JFK Center change its policies and practices. The President of the United States (now and future) should not be able to serve on the board of trustees for the Center. The President is welcome to assist with fundraising, but should NOT engage in the running of the JFK Center. We call for the immediate removal of Trump as the Director of the Board. The President should not be able to participate in any policy changes or practices, especially if they self-accredit the President and/or their family. It is up to the board to bestow accolades. It appears from individuals on the outside that what is happening, including the firing of board members and Trump making himself the Director, this name change has been obtained through intimidation, coercion, and taking advantage of his leadership position. I agree with the Kennedy Family that the practices and changes Trump implemented were lawful. Please help me support the Kennedy Family.
Schools are having to rely on private funding. A program was recently announced with Jane Pauof, who spends all their time donating instruments and lessons to children. He is failing our arts and cultural programs. Our educators and children deserve more from our President, including national support for arts and cultural education.
The Story of the J.F. Kennedy Center (see the center website) traces its support and establishment to President Eisenhower and his wife. President Kennedy and President Johnson worked to build this center to host arts and culture in Washington, DC. It was named after JFK's assassination to memorialize his Presidency. The Kennedy time in the office was the time of Camelot. I learned so much from my many visits to the Kennedy Library.
The two terms of President Trump are about hurting US citizens, not helping US citizens, a lack of cultural awareness/support, and a lack of arts. This is a disgrace to add his name to it. He has not earned this recognition!

Please sign this petition to request that the JFK Center change its policies and practices so that NO USA President can serve on their board of trustees. And they cannot involve themselves in the Center's policies, practices, or daily operations. This should begin with the removal of President Trump from the Board of Directors.
We are requesting that the board of trustees reverse its decision to add the Trump name to the center. Artists are canceling in protest to this change. It is wrong and was administered in a narcissistic & selfish way.
