A comprehensive solution to poverty requires the establishment of global social welfare systems which will guarantee and provide basic needs (food, shelter, clothing, education, health & basic sanitation) for the worlds poor wherever they may be.
In a world of plenty with increasing economic and technological advances, it is a sad reflection of mankind that rather than reducing poverty through wealth re-distribution and assistance to the needy, the difference between the rich and poor is widening.
We need to seriously work to re-address this imbalance by calling on world governments, rich and poor, to genuinely fulfil their socio-economic and political responsibilities by establishing a permanent social welfare system in their countries, within the framework of an interest-free economy. This must be actioned immediately.
