Join the Fight Against Chronic Disease

As a downside of economic and social development, emerging nations are fast acquiring first world non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as diabetes, obesity and heart ailments that afflict all social classes in places like India, Mexico, and South Africa.

Unfortunately, these nations and others lack the experience, expertise and capacity to deal with the burgeoning NCD crisis. Experts note that in India, one in eight people have diabetes or are at risk for developing the disease. And in countries like South Africa, it's estimated that only 15 percent of people with diabetes have been properly diagnosed.

The international community is starting to notice that NCDs are a huge problem - but Project HOPE already is addressing the NCD crisis in several countries.

Pledge today in support of long-term education and screening programs for countries where knowledge is scarce on preventing and managing NCDs.
I would like to help enable communities across the globe to prevent diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and other NCDs. I fully support prevention programs, diagnostic services, and disease management programs.

Health education can make a long-term impact on a nation's health needs. Countries like India, South Africa, and Mexico need our help. I stand proud in support of Project HOPE and its work to spread the word about chronic disease prevention.
