Fight Katrina Fatigue

We are appealing to the Congress of the United States to expeditiously provide the neccessary funding for the restoration of New Orleans, and the upgrading of its levees to withstand category five hurricanes.

We all know that this very tragic event affected all U.S. citizens. An important and major city has been devastated. But does this mean that this disaster couldn't have been prevented? This was not just the result of a natural disaster. If New Orleans had stronger levees than the flooding of New Orleans would not have happened. It is well documented that our government was warned repeatedly that the levees were inadequate. The citizens of New Orleans are our people. We have a responsibility to make New Orleans safe, and that means building stronger levees that can withstand a category five hurricane. Furthermore, the people of New Orleans need monetary assisstance to rebuild their homes and neighborhoods. Yet our government has not been forthcoming in providing the needed funding, and has failed to set the restoration of New Orleans as their highest priority. We can make a difference.<img src="http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c66/personfinancing/bannister_welcome_med1.jpg" alt="Image hosted by Photobucket.com"> CLICK LINK
