Urge KFC to help end the suffering of chickens

Billions of chickens are farmed in factories for their meat each year, often in appalling conditions. Most consumers are in the dark about their secret suffering.

A single, industrial warehouse can hold over 30,000 chickens. Many are packed in so tightly they struggle to move freely and often spend prolonged periods of time sitting or lying on wet and dirty litter. Keeping chickens in such close confinement also means that disease can spread rapidly.

Due to extreme genetic selection, meat chickens are bred to grow unnaturally fast and typically only live for 42 days before slaughter. They can suffer enormously during their short lives. Because of their unnatural growth rate, these intelligent, sensitive animals can experience skin sores and burns, weak bones resulting in injury and lameness, and overworked hearts and lungs.

Please join us in urging KFC to take responsibility for improving the welfare of chickens.

As one of the world's largest retailers of chicken meat, we want KFC to commit to improving the lives of millions of chickens by meeting our minimum welfare criteria. This means slower-growing birds with more space, natural light and the opportunities to behave like chickens.

Act now. Please sign our petition to urge KFC to help end the suffering of chickens.
