Pledge to Microchip Your Pets

When Toby the dog was just four years old, thieves broke into his family's home taking him, his bed, and his food away from his owner, Caroline.

Eighteen months later, Toby was found wandering by a council ranger and was brought into Sydney Dogs and Cats Home.

Thankfully, Caroline was a responsible pet owner and microchipped Toby, which enabled the team at Sydney Dogs and Cats Home to contact Caroline immediately. The two have reunited, and Toby hasn't left Caroline's side since.

When you take on the responsibility of caring for an animal companion, you sign up to protect the well-being of that animal to the best of your ability. Microchipping is not only required under NSW legislation but is an essential component of that care, right alongside plenty of food and water, shelter, exercise, and regular veterinary visits.

If you love your pets, pledge to always have them microchipped and the details kept up-to-date so shelters like the Sydney Dogs and Cats Home can continue to reunite beloved lost pets with their owners.
