We, the undersigned, wants the park commission to designate and maintain the area formally known as Snow Bowl Ski Area in it's historic usage as a natural winter sports park for the people of Morris County and New Jersey!
Snow Bowl Ski Area in Milton was founded in 1962 by Frank Johnson, a psychiatrist from Princeton, NJ and is now part of the Malon Dickerson Reservation and is a Morris County Park of New Jersey. It continues today as a backcountry winter recreation area used by many skiers, snowboarder and snowshoers. Sadly it has now has fallen into decay as the trails have become overgrown with sapplings covered with fallen logs and erosion damage from Off-Road motor vehicles.
We hope that we can work with the the Morris County Parks Commission to continue to maintain the trails of Snow Bowl as a natural snow winter sports park with little or no development (lifts, snowmaking or lodges) except to widen trails, clear them of trees, shrubs, brush and rocks then selectively remove trees to create forested glades.
