Facebook Fail: Stop Sponsored Stories from Likes

Anytime you check into a business with Facebook's Places application or click "Like" on a product, Facebook can sell that information to the company. Companies can then re-post your original post to your friends as an ad, called a "Sponsored Story".

You might love coffee, but do you really want Starbucks to use your name and picture as an ad on the side of your friends News Feeds?

Even worse, Facebook doesn't have the option of blocking companies from using your posts, so anytime you check in or "Like" a product, you're creating free advertisements that Facebook can sell to corporations.

Tell Mark Zuckerberg that you shouldn't be turned into a billboard--tell him you want better privacy settings.
It is my understanding that Facebook is allowing companies to use my posts as advertisements to my friends, and I am not happy about it.

Facebook is a great way to keep in touch with family and friends and to keep up with my favorite bands and brands, but I am not okay with my information being used in advertisements. My name, picture, and posts should not be used to make someone else a profit without my express permission.

That is why I am demanding better security and privacy features that will allow me to decide who can profit from my activities on Facebook.
