Refugee Children at Risk This Winter!

Refugee children in Syria and Iraq have experienced suffering that no child should ever have to endure.

Some children have witnessed parents and siblings killed. Some have been injured themselves. Some are malnourished. All of them are at risk of losing their childhood. Now, plummeting temperatures pose a new threat to these vulnerable children.

Without desperately needed assistance, children will be forced to face the winter months cold and lonely, without shelter, food and other basic survival necessities.

That’s why UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, is coordinating a massive emergency response. We’re working across conflict lines to manage shelters and provide blankets, tents, food, medicine and other essential lifelines for kids in danger.

But more needs to be done. Much of the world has ignored the plight of these frightened, traumatized children. Their suffering won’t end until people like you and me stand up and say, “We care. We won’t look away.” Will you speak out today?

Take action today and stand with children and families with nowhere else to turn!
I stand with UNHCR and the 50 million men, women and children that have been forced to flee their homes around the world.

I stand with UNHCR in supporting the right of every child to live free from the threat of violence.

I stand with UNHCR in asserting that every child has a right to survive and thrive in their own community.

I stand with UNHCR and refugee children struggling to survive this winter.
