Equifax Wants to Screw Over Users a Second Time

Credit reporting agency Equifax announced that hackers had gained access to private data of 143 million American consumers. It is one of the largest data breaches and risks to personally sensitive information in recent years.

When the leak was announced, Equifax created a free help site that allows consumers to check if their information has been exposed. Unfortunately, the company buried an arbitration clause into the site’s terms of service that prohibits anyone who has enrolled in it from joining any class-action lawsuits that may arise from the incident.

This is completely unacceptable. Equifax is secretly trying to shirk responsibility for this massive data breach and we cannot let them get away with it.

Nearly half of Americans likely had their sensitive information exposed. People are right to be worried about their privacy. Equifax shouldn’t be trying to screw over their customers again.

Please sign this petition demanding that Equifax remove the arbitration clause from its terms of service so that they can be held accountable for this massive threat to privacy.
