Stop family violence

Family violence is a major health and social issue in New Zealand. In 2015, police responded to over 110,000 family violence related calls. Last year, 17 children lost their lives due to family violence.

The effects of violence can last a lifetime. When children witness the abuse of their parents, siblings, or even themselves, they develop major patterns of stress and fear at a young age.

60,000 Kiwi kids live in danger every day. But together, we can help them live in loving, nurturing homes, safe from violence.

Plunket provides specialist services to identify and address violence within families and communities. We support New Zealand communities and fight for the welfare of children every day.
