No on Villa Park Government Invocations

The Villa Park City Council proposes the adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 2007-2928 titled: "ESTABLISHING THE ORDER OF BUSINESS FOR CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS TO INCLUDE CONDUCTING AN INVOCATION OR MOMENT OF SILENCE AND RECINDING RESOLUTION NO. 2007-2927" at the February 27, 2007 City Council Meeting. Since the incorporation of the City of Villa Park 45 years ago, ALL of the previous City Councils have supported Traditional American Values, including the separation of church and state, freedom of religion, and they have demonstrated RESPECT for the DIVERSITY of residents. Our city has functioned very well without an Invocation as part of the city council agenda as being proposed by Resolution No. 2007-2928. The entire focus of the Villa Park City Council should be the conduct of "official, essential, and prioritized city business" which will most benefit our city and its residents within the constraints of our limited fiscal and manpower resources.
We. the undersigned residents of Villa Park, urge the Villa Park City Council to OPPOSE the adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 2007-2928 titled: "ESTABLISHING THE ORDER OF BUSINESS FOR CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS TO INCLUDE CONDUCTING AN INVOCATION OR MOMENT OF SILENCE AND RECINDING RESOLUTION NO. 2007-2927"
