Antioch Marketplace YES!

The future of Antioch is at a pivotal point.

We desperately need money for our schools, roads, and village improvements. Our tax dollars alone cannot support these needs and I would hate to see our taxes increase. An incredible opportunity has been brought to Antioch, the Antioch Marketplace.

Picture this: Target, Kohls, Lowes, Best Buy, Buffalo Wild Wings. All of the stops we frequent in other towns, right here in Antioch!

Sure it will bring more traffic, but just think of what we will gain:

  • Approximately $1.5 million in sales taxes every year
  • Approximately $750,000 in property taxes every year to District 34
  • Approximately $550,000 in property taxes every year to District 117
  • Approximately 800 full time jobs

Antioch is going to continue to grow. We can help ourselves and support this development for the better of our town, or we can turn it away, continue to overpopulate our schools without funding, and let another town benefit from this development.

Approximately nine months ago, V-Land brought a proposal to the Village of Antioch, Illinois, for the Antioch Marketplace. The Village has been provided with studies, drawings, statistics, and every bit of information needed to make a well-informed decision.

We, the undersigned of Lake County, express our support for the Antioch Marketplace and demand that our Antioch elected officials take a firm stand to approve the annexation of property for the Antioch Marketplace at the next village board meeting dated Monday, October 1, 2007.

Thank you for your time.
