Parents should be alarmed that Yamasawa, principal of Kahakai Elementary School, is allowing severe bullying to the students from not only their own peers but from teachers as well. It is also alarming to know that her lack of managing her staff and using fear tactics causes the teachers and other staff members to have nervous breakdowns. Because of her lack of caring, compassion, management, work ethic and other qualities towards her students and staff, there has been reported children being threaten and physically abused by various staff on compass during school hours, in addition to some children attempting suicide. To bring further concern, Yamasawa has recently encapsulated both, the school’s counselor, and student service coordinator, to half of the hours that was already compressed. What this means in for the fate of Kahakai Elm. Students, is that they will not receive the proper attention and care that is most needed in these highly stressful situations at most needed times, due the absence of these positions, that were once advocates to anti-bullying and training, as they are now (nearly) gone. There is much more that goes on beyond closed doors of Kahakai Elementary. Overall, it can be stated and quoted, Yamasawa is now a dictator to an unhealthy, oppressive school environment that was once healthy and happy grammar school.
As parents/family members of children who have been to that school or are currently attending, we need to step up and GET JESSICA YAMASAWA OUT! In order to have these horrific acts towards student and staff members, we need to remove the antagonizing factor- Jessica Yamasawa, principal of Kahakai Elementary. Signatures can be anonymous for this, as many locals of Kailua-Kona will fear, and possibly face retaliation from Yamasawa, jeopardizing their own professional positions- when signing this petition, I strongly urge you to include your location though, especially Hawaii residents. Current parents of students attending Kahakai Elm., I also encourage you to simply ask current Principal Yamasawa what exactly are the current interventions in place to cater to the bullying crisis at Kahakai, and to probe deeper to find a clear, exact answer that makes sense to you and others. The time is now, where as concerned community members, we rise to GET JESSICA YAMASAWA OUT!
