LA QUINTA DESIGNATED OFF LEASH AREA FOR DOGS
We the undersigned petition La Quinta City Council Members for a designated area for our dogs to be off leash.
La Quinta Residents and Part-time residents only....please sign the petition and pass it along to your friends, families, and neighbors. Public officials like to see names and comments. Comments make the issue personal.
"A good dog is a tired dog." The cardiovascular benefit provided by healthy dog to dog play is great for dogs. Dogs need to run, chase balls and play frisbee. Healthy dogs are calmer and better behaved.
We believe the area south of the La Quinta Cove Oasis is the perfect spot for off-leash. It is wide open space. We moved to La Quinta so we could enjoy the open space with our dogs.
We believe owners should be responsible. Their dogs should be licensed and feces picked up. Dogs should be well-behaved.
The current dog parks are to small. Even if you combined all the dog parks in La Quinta into one park it would be to small for large dogs to run and play.
The city states that California Leash Law requires dogs to be on-leash. Many cities allow un-fenced off-leash areas like Palm Desert, Coronado and Huntington Beach.
Attached is a petition signed by residents and snowbirds to La Quinta. We all want an area where our dogs can run and play without a lease. We have suggested the area on the south of La Quinta....at the top of the La Quinta cove. Please read their comments
The dog parks in La Quinta are way to small. We need a 5 acre dog park. Thank you for listening to your city residents.
Sincerely,
Dog owners
