The recent evidence of the revitalization of Buffalo, NY also creates a need of a revised mobile vendor permit process that does not limit the ability of entrepreneurship while respecting the stationary vendor.
Therefore, we, the undersigned request the City of Buffalo to amend and update the current process.
We ask for the elimination of multiple permits to an affordable business-building citywide fee process that is valid on all public land eliminating restrictions by third parties not affiliated with city government.
While we recognize the need for competition we are also respectful of stationary vendors to assure their incomes are not compromised. Therefore, we would suggest a minimum boundary measurement around special events, private events and private property that provides that assurance to the stationary vendor, but does not inhibit the economic viability of the mobile vendor.
By amending the current permit process, Buffalo, NY will also generate a foundation of entrepreneurship that will add to the color and fabric of the community-at-large. This effort will generate a new trust and faith for youth and other small economic development endeavors, craft a visual compliment to our city and its ever-growing tourism, all while stimulating our local economy.
