This is a petition towards raising teen awareness on the subject of dog
fighting.
Those dogs are being treated horribly. They are trained to kill. To fight to the death of one another. Two dogs go into the pit and one comes out. The remains of the dog that was killed is buried in some place that is most likely forgotten. These dogs are treated worse than humans are in third world countries. The dog that comes out of the pit is normally in critical condition. The injured dog is then stitched up and sent back into the pit to fight once again.
What if YOU were raised to fight for someone's entertainment? If your only choice was to kill or be killed? They're not dead to begin with, they can be helped. Please help us and sign this petition against dog fighting. They are lovable creatures who need a good home. Instead of going to buy a pure bred $800 pet, why not help, and go down to the local pound and at least foster. These dogs are fighting for someone else's pleasure and fortune!
How would you feel if you were expendable? Well that's what these dogs are, expendable. At least to their masters or trainers, that is. If you were a dog that had been badly injured you would be immediately stitched up and sent back to fight. You wouldn't know why you were fighting, just that you had been trained to do so. You would be fighting for the pleasure and the welfare of someone else.
Did you know that dog fighting is a felony in merely 48 states? Or that anyone that owns 50 or more dogs - all of which are trained to fight other dogs - is considered a professional dog fighter?
Please, help us out and sign this petition. Once we reach our goal of 1,000,000 signatures, we will send this to the political parties, government officials, senators, congressmen, and anyone else who we (or you) think might help us to make a difference. We will lead and start fundraisers in our state and you can lead and start fundraisers in your state/country. We could do fundraisers such as dog washes to help out the owners. We could do a benefit concert, a bake sale, make dog treats and sell them! The money will go to a fund to get those dogs out of horrible conditions and into better, loving environments. The money will also go to funding other fundraisers or things like that.
We, the undersigned, are petitioning against the legalization of dog fighting in the U.S.

We know that you have probably read a lot of petitions similar to this one. We know that you might just blow this off, but this is not like other groups. This petition is for raising the teen awareness level on the subject of dogfighting. All we ask is that you at least do something rather than nothing. We know that you are probably very busy and we are grateful for your time.
