UMD Alumni Association Charter of Asian Pacific American Alumni Network

We the undersigned members and supporters of the Asian Pacific American Alumni Network (APAAN) do hereby petition for the charter of the club in the University of Maryland Alumni Association (UMAA), and do hereby pledge to advance the mission and goals of APAAN and UMAA set forth below:

The mission of the Asian Pacific American Alumni Network is to support and cultivate the interests of alumni of the University of Maryland who affiliate or identify with the Asian Pacific American (APA) community.

Our objectives and goals are to:
1. Maintain a network of APA graduates from the University of Maryland College Park.
2. Facilitate the exchange of ideas and information between APA alumni, APA students and the University of Maryland College Park.
3. Encourage academic and professional development opportunities for APA students at the University of Maryland College Park.
4. Advocate on behalf of the APA community at the University of Maryland College Park.

The mission of the University of Maryland Alumni Association is to support and promote the university in its pursuits of excellence in teaching, research and public service and to foster a spirit of loyalty, involvement and life-long commitment to the university by its alumni.

As a charter club of UMAA, we shall support the association's goals, and strengthen the ties between alumni, the community, and the university. We shall agree to be bound by the policies, procedures, and requirements as established by the UMAA.
