Liberation for Facebook Users

Normally I wouldn't care what a company like Facebook made users agree to to join, but Facebook has become so big that to not join Facebook is to choose an alternate and perhaps even outdated sort of lifestyle. As such, a few demands need to be made to Facebook's Terms of Service so that it can be fair to everyone.

1. Facebook doesn't currently allow people to have multiple accounts, or transfer accounts, pages, or applications to others' control without their written permission.... Why do they care? Does Zuckerberg think I want my boss to see what I did at that party last night? And why should I need FB's permission to let my friend administer the Bay Area Kitten Lovers page while I relax in Russia? I propose allowing users to do these whenever they want - sure, Facebook can ask to be notified, but they shoudl be left out of the decision process.

2. Facebook doesn't let sex offenders make accounts. Well I can sure imagine why, but that seems like an extreme action to take against people who may have only sex offended once in their life. I propose allowing everyone over 13, including the scorned of society, make an account (although sure, sex offenders may warrant special monitoring).

3. Facebook demands users keep their contact information up-to-date. Why? Leave me alone, creeper! This doesn't belong in the Terms of Service at all. My phone number is (555)555-5555 and I like it that way.

4.  Facebook collects other information from out computers than what we know it's collecting, including IP address, type of browser, and, on mobile devices, GPS information, so all citizens of the Zuckempire can be tracked. Yeah, they're probably just using it to help us connect to friends nearby, but would you really want to trust a publicly traded company? I wouldn't. I propose giving users the option of letting Facebook collect extra information, with no penalty for not choosing to allow it.
