Pinkwashed? Eliminate Pink Hypocrisy

We are a group of graduate students at Ryerson University in Toronto that have started this petition as part of an advocacy project for class.

Many companies have been taking advantage of cause-related marketing in order to maximize their profit. This is particularly relevant to breast cancer.

"A Pinkwasher is defined as a company or organization that claims to care about breast cancer by promoting a pink ribbon product, but at the same time produces, manufactures and/or sells products that are linked to the disease" (Breast Cancer Action, 2012).

We feel that companies have an obligation to be socially responsible and ensure that their products are safe for public use.
