Companies fail to respond to repeated complaints about racial profiling.

Apple and AT&T have had multiple complaints of racial profiling and discrimination. People have complained they were humiliated, denied transactions, refused entry (AT&T), and or received some other type of disparate treatment.

Many of the complaints were made in the same stores.

See court cases, Civil Rights Bureau investigations, and complaints.

Upper management at both companies have been made aware of these complaints and were urged to do something meaningful to address the issues.

Neither companies responded.

The silence and unwillingness of both Apple and AT&T to address these issues send the message to employees that its ok to racially profile or discriminate when it comes to perceived security risks.

Please sign the petition if you believe their silence is not acceptable and they should act to address these complaints.
There have been multiple complaints by individuals who state that they were denied the ability to make routine purchases, were humiliated, denied entry, and or received some other type of disparate treatment in your stores.

Apple there have been multiple complaints at the same locations in New York and Los Angeles. AT&T there have been multiple complaints at the same location in Los Angeles.

The complaints are usually made by minorites in reference to a perceived "security" issue, often these complaints are made by African American men.

One person states he was detained by the police and searched for stolen property after leaving an AT&T store. He stated that after nothing was found he did not even receive an apology from the AT&T staff. Another states that at the same store he was not allowed to enter but the store was not closed and he could see customers shopping.

Multiple individuals in your upper management have been made aware of these complaints. Apple you were notified multiple times due to the number of complaints, the Civil Rights Bureau investigation in New York, and  because you use Dr. King and other African American men who fought racism in your ads.

Neither of you responded!

Many believe that up to 80% of these incidents go unreported because people do not believe that their complaints will be addressed and or do not have the resources to litigate.

Many of your employees seem to believe that anything goes when it comes to minorities and perceived security risks. Please do something meaningful do address these complaints. People deserve to be treated with respect when "attempting" to make transactions in your stores.
