We the residents of Luna course and Nutmeg Lane, demand that a 3 way stop sign be placed at the intersection of Luna course and Nutmeg, as well as ,at the corner of Caraway drive and Luna Course. The safety of our families is the number one concern. Over the years we have witnessed several episodes of loss of control due to speed, and vehicles ended up on the lawns of the residence of Luna course. We have noted an increase in thru traffic with the onset of new construction on Morgan road ,as well as cars trying to avoid the school zone on Wetzel Road or using or street as a cut-through because they know the area is unpatrolled. Many families on our street are unable to even take our young children for a walk or bike ride due to the speed and unsafe conditions on Luna course. One of our local residence of Luna course is legally blind and deaf and on many occasions has encountered numberous threats to her safety due to the speed and reckless driving of the traffic on Luna.
We feel that by placing a 3 way stop sign at the intersection of Luna and Nutmeg and a 3 way stop sign at the intersection of Caraway and Luna vehicles will be forced to slow down and will be unable to increase their speed as they proceed down Luna course.
Presently there are no stop signs at the intersection of Nutmeg and Luna course. There is a blind corner at this intersection and no stop sign . As vehicles proceed to this intersection they are often met with speeding traffic coming around the blind corner on Luna Course. A stop sign at this particular location would make it necessary for oncoming traffic to stop which would in turn curtail their ability to increase speed as they proceed to the next intersection . This would also increase safety to those proceeding to or from Nutmeg.
We ask that you strongly concider our petition as we attempt to make our neighborhood a safer more pleasant place to reside.
