Our Biggest Climate Success Story is at Risk

Acting EPA Administrator Wheeler and Department of Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao are proposing an all-out assault on America's Clean Car Standards — a program that will save Americans more than $1 trillion, and is already wildly successful.

But 2 out of 3 Americans favor this program — and even some leading car companies have urged the Trump Administration not to roll back this crucial program. This absurd proposal must be subject to public review — which is our chance to stop it.

Stand with the majority of Americans, and speak up to protect our biggest climate success story — before it's too late!
SUBJECT: I strongly oppose this attack on clean cars

Dear Acting Administrator Wheeler and Secretary Chao,

I am writing today in strong opposition to this administration's decision to attack America's Clean Car Standards.

These pollution control standards are a win-win they are protecting us from dangerous pollution while saving Americans money at the pump. Rolling back these protections unnecessarily wastes Americans' hard-earned money, and hurts our auto industry's chances at remaining competitive in a global market increasingly dominated by countries investing in cleaner car technology.

Last year, EPA concluded an exhaustive technical review of the industry's ability to meet the phase of the standards covering 2022-2025 model years, and found industry can meet those standards at lower costs than initially predicted.

It makes no sense to reverse course on this successful policy. Keep these crucial standards intact.
