Put Truth Back in New Hampshire's Election Process!

On Election Day 2002, the Republican Party hired a telemarketing firm to illegally jam the phone lines at the local firefighter's union office and New Hampshire Democratic Party campaign offices.

In spite of jail terms, suspicious phone records and a money trail leading to Washington, the phone jamming scandal was never fully investigated and Senator John Sununu has never explained when and what his campaign knew about the plot. All that's about to change.

The U.S. House of Representatives' Judiciary Committee announced it will investigate the phone jamming scandal. After five long years, New Hampshire deserves some answers from John Sununu!

Sign the petition asking Senator Sununu to testify.

Dear Senator Sununu,

As a resident of New Hampshire, I support the following:

Whereas, on Election Day, 2002, the New Hampshire Republican Party illegally hired a telemarketing firm to jam the phone lines at the local firefighter's union office and campaign offices belonging to the New Hampshire Democratic Party.

Whereas, the Republican Party succeeded in blocking all phone communication to and from get-out-the-vote offices in Concord, Manchester, Claremont, Nashua, and Rochester, from around the time the polls opened until after the morning rush hour, when the operation was shut down.

Whereas, that evening John Sununu won a narrow victory over Jeanne Shaheen in one of the most hotly-contested elections in the country.

Whereas, three of the men involved in the phone-jamming pled guilty to felonies; two of them were sent to jail, including the Executive Director of the New Hampshire Republican Party.

Whereas, a fourth man - a senior official from the Republican National Committee who helped facilitate the crime - was convicted as well, but his conviction was overturned on appeal after the RNC spent $3 million defending him.

We, the undersigned, support a full congressional investigation into the 2002 phone jamming scandal in New Hampshire and call upon Senator John Sununu to testify in said investigation and tell us for once and for all what he knew and when he knew it.
