GIVE VETERANS THE DAY OFF ON VETERANS DAY
Every year we celebrate Veterans Day on November 11th. Many federal and state employees get the day off but more and more veterans are forced to work on November 11th. The days of Veterans Day parades are gone. Many schools remain open and few private industries give employees the day off. These men and women of the armed forces risked their lives to make ours better. Dont you think they deserve to have the day we honor them off? I say bring back parades and celebrations to let them know they matter to us!
We the undersigned demand that congress make it mandatory that Veterans get the day off on their day.
The men and women veterans have served our country well. We need to truly celebrate them on November 11, 2010 by bringing back the parades and hoopla. They also need to be given the day off. Legislation needs to be written ensuring that every man and woman that has or is currently serving in the military get the day off.
