We moved into Eagles Pointe because we knew these 4,5-6 bedroom homes would boast a family oriented community. We chose to live in this subdivision so that our children could play freely and safely and enjoy the immunities the community had to offer. Months ago I sent an email to our HOA Site Manager, Sheila Turner and to the Senior Community Manager, Marguerite Breene, requesting the developer, K. Hovnanian, to install a community basketball court/hoops in the subdivision. I was told that it wouldn%u2019t be supported because there would be no way to keep other children who didn%u2019t live in the neighborhood from playing on it.
There are many children in this subdivision who enjoy playing basketball. On numerous occasions the neighborhood children come over to my house to shoot hoops on our portable basketball hoop with my two sons. However, my driveway is not large enough to support 10 children playing a game of basketball. Our children love shooting hoops and they need a place larger than my driveway to do so. Yesterday when I drove into our subdivision my son and approximately 8 little boys were sitting on the curb in front of the model home. My son and another little boy had a basketball in their hands. I stopped and told my son and the others to go over to the club-house parking lot area and play ball over there as oppose to standing in front of the model home. Hanging out in front of the model home is not a good look for the community.
There is a tennis court in our subdivision that gets very little use. However, it is in a controlled environment. If the developer can install a tennis court, we request that they install a basketball court or hoops. We purchased in this neighborhood because of the parks, pool, school etc.. Everything was based on raising our family. There are approximately 12 boys on our court alone and the first thing they want to do when they go outside is shoot some hoops. We are asking you support us in this effort to change this policy and build a basketball court or install basketball hoops near the clubhouse for all of the families who live in Eagles Pointe subdivision. Thank you for your support in growing a healthy, happy, active and safe community to raise our families.
