To the Honourable the Members of the House of Assembly in Parliament assembled.
We, the undersigned, respectfully request that:
Medical Marijuana be legalised in Australia.
Marijuana or Cannabis which is it's correct name is currently illegal in all states of Australia.
Though it has been demonised for the past 50 years, Cannabis is a medicinal herb that has been used worldwide for thousands of years to heal people.
Most commonly smoked, Cannabis can also be eaten or used in a vaporizer as a healthier alternative to smoking.
Research has shown Cannabis can help the following illnesses:
Nerve damage,nausea, spasticity, glaucoma, and movement disorders, it's also a powerful appetite stimulant for people suffering from HIV, The AIDA wasting syndrome, or dementia.
Newer research suggests that the medicinal properties of Cannabis may protect the body against types of malignant tumors(1) and are neuroprotective(2)

As of now, more than 60 International and US health organisations support immediate legal access to medical marijuana prescribed by a physician to patients.
We, the citizens of Australia call for Medical Marijuana to be legalised in Australia and available to people who suffer chronic and terminal illnesses.
We call for the right to organically grow sufficient quantities of Cannabis to responsibly self medicate.
We call for the right to choose the herb Cannabis as an organic natural alternative to prescription drugs.
