NC Surcharge on Insurance for Being Overweight

Recently I applied for health insurance with Blue Cross, Blue Shield of North Carolina. I was turned down based solely on my weight. Now North Carolina is thinking of passing a bill that would allow a surcharge to be placed on any overweight NC citizen's health insurance. This is discrimination, no matter how you look at it. Shame on North Carolina.

We the undersigned find it abhorrent that a surcharge would be placed on a citizen's health insurance cost solely based on weight. This is discriminatory and shameful. We will do everything in our power to make sure that this does not come to pass.
