Outdoor Racquetball for Greenville,S.C.

I am starting this Petition on behalf of the racquetball community here in Greenville, S.C. As you may or may not know Greenville County has no public outdoor racquetball facilities in any of its parks. I recently discussed with the Executive Director of the Greenville County Recreation District, the possibilities of building outdoor courts at one of the existing venues. I was advised that the best way to get this into their Capital Improvement Plans would be to get a local organization to demonstrate and support a need for this type of facility. Therefore funds can be allocated to build this facility. He suggested a centrally located park would be most feasible. I agreed. Now, my fellow racquetball, handball, paddleball, and tennis enthusiasts alike, we need your support to make this a reality. Here are a few quick facts about racquetball:

• Racquetball develops cardiovascular and muscle endurance and works nearly every muscle group.
• It's a game that's easy to learn.
• All ages can play from ages 6 to 90.
• The average number of calories burned during a racquetball match ranges from 640-822 calories an hour (Sports Training Institute).
• An average game will take approximately 20 minutes in which a player will run a distance of over two miles in one hour of playing (U.S. Olympic Training Center).
• Racquetball players work at a constant rate of 75-85% of their maximum heart rate during a game.
• Racquetball is fun!!!!!!!!!

So if you want to be part of something new and exciting in the Upstate, take a moment and let your voice be heard.
