Paypal: Stop Blocking Donations to Kids in Need and Reinstate Regretsy's account

Regretsy.com is a website with a dirty mouth and a huge, huge heart. This year, they were collecting donations to send Christmas gifts to kids in need this holiday. So many donations came in that they were planning on sending gifts and donations to families in need, so they could get through Christmas with a bit more cheer and fewer overwhelming bills.

Then PayPal froze the account and refused to let the gifts go through, all because they used a "donate" button, which PayPal now says is only for nonprofit use.

Paypal has a long history of closing down accounts without explanation, freezing accounts collecting charitable donations for interminable periods of time, and preventing people from donating money to worthy causes because of technicalities.

This has gone on too long.

PayPal has no right to freeze legitimate accounts, and clearly has no moral compass if it continues to block donations of Christmas gifts to kids in need.

Tell PayPal to unfreeze Regretsy's account, and to stop stealing presents from kids in need.

Dear PayPal President and all concerned:

I'm horrified to hear that, once again, you've frozen someone's account on a ridiculous technicality and are willfully keeping money from its rightful owner. Even worse, this time you're literally taking donations out of the hands of needy families. Regretsy.com did an amazing thing collecting an overwhelming number of donations of toys and money for kids in need this Christmas. Listen to reason, do the right thing, and let the donations go through. Stop taking toys out of the hands of kids in need.

Sincerely,
