PE teachers should take Fitness Tests!

Obesity rates sore! Diabetes Epidemic hits the US! Health Insurance costs go through the roof for all Americans ! 75 % of all Americans now over weight and 33% are obese!
In the meantime, did you know that not a single University in the United States requires their PE teaching students to take (never mind pass) a fitness test of any kind?!
Let me say that again, because you probably think you misunderstood. Anyone can decide to become a PE teacher and go to school to get a teaching certificate in PE. They can be the most unfit, most obese person in the entire University but it does not matter. If they get good grades on the paper and pencil tests, they still get to graduate. They can then become a PE teacher in our public school system teaching children how to get fit, be healthy and even telling them what to eat! This totally unfit person will not have to take a fitness test of any kind in order to get his or her teaching degree in physical education!
And once they become a teacher they won't either. That's right... you won't have to even take a fitness test of any kind (never mind pass it).
No wonder PE teachers, and PE class have become the butt of a millions of jokes. PE in the United States is a joke!
Please sign my petition asking University and colleges to require their PE Teachers (and people in related fields like "exercise science," "health," "sport physiology" etc) to require their students to take a standard fitness test and record their scores on their college transcripts! This would be a great start. Maybe in a dozen more years we might even get our universities to insist they pass the fitness test at some minimal level!
If you sign my petition here is my pledge to you; When I have 1000 signatures I will hand deliver to every college and university in my area (there are 7) and I will arrange to email it to every college and university in the United States of America! Let us put some common sense back into our schools and universities! PE teachers should be the fittest people in our schools not the fattest and most unfit!
I teach Psychology at a University in Kentucky. We have known for decades that children learn from what they "see adults do," not what adults "tell them to do." It is called "modeling." PE teachers should be fitness role models not fatness rolls!
Help me and this absurd, in your face, hypocrisy and lunacy! Wake up America! Toughen up! Quit making excuses for everything! It is not too much to demand that PE teachers be Fit! It is common sense!
Obesity and lack of basic fitness is now literally killing Americans by the hundreds of thousands and damaging the lives and crippling the potential of hundreds of millions more! Obesity and lack of fitness kills people. It damages their sense of self. It hurts our economy. It hurts us in the eyes of the world - who have begun to attack us Americans as inconsiderate, over-consumers of the worlds resources! Many foreigners now simply refer to all Americans as PIGS!
You can help by simply by signing my petition! I promise you I will take it and run with it! If necessary I will even start taking it to State Legislatures if our schools don't step up and start requiring our teachers to walk their talk!
