Probation and Intervention - NOT INCARCERATION!

J. Patrick Lamoureux is a 100% disabled Iraq combat Veteran.  He has been rated 70% disabled for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) by the Veterans Administration.

Even though he was seeing a VA mental health provider, the provider failed to appropriately recommend in-patient treatment when the Veteran presented for an appointment in a state of mental crisis.  The Veteran was told to go home and take his medication.

The Veteran ultimately became engaged in a confrontation with law enforcement, which resulted in a Deputy of the Nye County Sheriff's office and Pat Lamoureux being wounded.

Pat was arrested and has been detained for 10 months in the Nye County Detention Center pending trial, which will not occur until early 2010.  He will have been detained for a year and a half.

During the past 10 months this Veteran has been denied VA benefits, even though he has not been convicted of anything in a court of law.

Incarceration causes PTSD.  To incarcerate a Veteran with a high level of PTSD and not provide immediate and continued psychological treatment is an injustice to a Veteran who fought for our country.

A Veteran with no prior criminal record faces the possibility of lifetime incarceration.  Justice will not be served if Pat Lamoureux is sent to prison.

ONE EPISODE IN A VETERAN'S LIFE - DOES NOT DEFINE THE VETERAN.

Help J. Patrick Lamoureux get probation and in-patient treatment, not incarceration.

Tell Nye County Nevada you support this Veteran.
