Repeal SB 185!
In 1996, Proposition 209 (also known as the California Civil Rights Initiative)amended the state constitution to prohibit public institutions from considering race, sex, or ethnicity. The voters of California voted in favor of this proposition.But SB 185 seeks to change what the voters decided on. It wants both the UCs and CSUs to factor in one's race, ethnicity, and gender when admitting them to college. Students should continue to be admitted based on their academic achievements and the admissions process should be blind to race, gender, and ethnicity. Repeal SB 185!!!
