World Environment Day and World Ocean Day

- - SAS (Surfers Against Sewage) has this initiative that you can support. It coincides with World Environment Day and World Ocean Day. Tuesday the 5th is World Environment Day and we are asking you to go to your local beach and have a look around. Find a piece of identifiable marine litter and send it back to the manufacturer. This is part of our ongoing Return To Offender marine litter campaign. EVEN JUST SIGNING THIS PETITION WILL HELP!
We are calling on manufacturers to:
* To step up the 'anti-littering' message on their products
* To promote recycling and/or reuse wherever possible.
* To support community beach litter initiatives or 'anti-litter' projects.
* To look at using less harmful packaging to ensure products can be broken down naturally without putting wildlife at risk.
Marine litter, by it's very definition comes from humans. So it is up to us to start to tackle this problem. World Environment Day is a great reason to head to the beach and do something positive for the environment! Once signature goal is reached, petition will be sent to SAS to show our support.
